 kicks off for the first time ever at SXSW. iOS 7.1 includes a number of
 new features, interface tweaks and bug fixes for the iPhone, iPad and 
iPod touch as outlined below.<br />

Arriving roughly six months after the launch of iOS 7, the first major update includes support for <a href="http://askneed.blogspot.com/2014/03/apple-releases-ios-71-for-iphone-ipad.html" target="_blank">CarPlay</a>.
 Formerly known as the iOS in the car initiative, Apple unveiled CarPlay
 a week ago during the Geneva Motor Show with support from Ferrari, 
Mercedes-Benz and Volvo.<br />

Apple also improved the Touch ID fingerprint recognition system found on the <a href="http://askneed.blogspot.com/2014/03/apple-releases-ios-71-for-iphone-ipad.html" target="_blank">iPhone 5s</a><a href="https://www.blogger.com/null">.</a>
 Elsewhere, users can now control how long Siri listens for voice 
commands by simply holding down the Home button as you speak. The 
personal assistant also received improved voices in Mandarin Chinese, 
Australian <a href="http://askneed.blogspot.com/2014/03/apple-releases-ios-71-for-iphone-ipad.html" target="_blank">English</a>, UK English and Japanese which are said to sound more
 natural.<br />

New accessibility options include a bold font option for the keyboard, 
calculator and many icons, the ability to reduce motion in Weather, 
Messages and multitasking <a href="http://askneed.blogspot.com/2014/03/apple-releases-ios-71-for-iphone-ipad.html" target="_blank">UI </a>animations and the ability to darken app

 Q4 2013 numbers saw the two dominate platforms increase even further to
 account for 95.7% off all <a href="http://askneed.blogspot.com/2014/03/android-and-ios-made-up-for-957-of.html" target="_blank">smartphones</a> shipped, 4 percentage points 
higher than the same time the previous year.<br />
As we previously saw when <a href="http://askneed.blogspot.com/2014/03/android-and-ios-made-up-for-957-of.html" target="_blank">IDC </a>reported that smartphone shipments hit the 1 billion mark, Samsung dominated shipments followed by <a href="http://askneed.blogspot.com/2014/03/android-and-ios-made-up-for-957-of.html" target="_blank">Motorola</a> and <a href="http://askneed.blogspot.com/2014/03/android-and-ios-made-up-for-957-of.html" target="_blank">Huawei</a> once again pushing Android shipment growth well ahead of iOS.<br />

Although<a href="http://askneed.blogspot.com/2014/03/android-and-ios-made-up-for-957-of.html" target="_blank"> Apple's </a>mobile platform continued its positive trend, it 
experienced the lowest shipment growth at 6.7% for the quarter and 12.9%
 for the year. Due in large part to Nokia, Windows Phone on the other 
hand posted the largest shipment increases, 46.7% on the quarter and 
90.9% for the year. As you might have imagined, <a href="http://askneed.blogspot.com/2014/03/android-and-ios-made-up-for-957-of.html" target="_blank">BlackBerry</a> continued its
 downward spiral dipping -40.9 percentage points over the year.<br />
In its latest report,<a href="http://askneed.blogspot.com/2014/03/android-and-ios-made-up-for-957-of.html" target="_blank"> IDC</a> also says the era of double digit yearly 
growth is<a href="http://askneed.blogspot.com/2014/03/android-and-ios-made-up-for-957-of.html" target="_blank"> likely </a>to end overall and that these kinds of numbers only 
have a few years left. While marketing campaigns continue to be focused 
on flagship devices, the group's<a href="http://askneed.blogspot.com/2014/03/android-and-ios-made-up-for-957-of.html" target="_blank"> research</a> shows that consumer interest 
is rapidly shifting towards lower cost devices.

It's been only days since Apple fixed the wide spread <a href="http://askneed.blogspot.com/2014/02/apps-can-track-keystrokes-becz-iphone.html" target="_blank">iOS</a> security flaw that made <a href="https://www.blogger.com/null" target="_blank">headlines</a>, and now <a href="https://www.blogger.com/null" target="_blank">another issue</a> has surfaced. A network security company has spotted another hole that is allowing malicious software to watch your every move.

Security firm<a href="http://askneed.blogspot.com/2014/02/apps-can-track-keystrokes-becz-iphone.html" target="_blank"> FireEye</a> spotted the issue and was able to get a dummy app
 onto the App Store to prove it, a technique many security groups use as
 proof of concept. The particular security flaw at hand, which is 
present on the newest version of <a href="http://askneed.blogspot.com/2014/02/apps-can-track-keystrokes-becz-iphone.html" target="_blank">iOS</a>, allows for apps to track your 
keystrokes made possible by<a href="http://askneed.blogspot.com/2014/02/apps-can-track-keystrokes-becz-iphone.html" target="_blank"> iOS</a> 7's multitasking features. The process 
will track your moves while running as a background process, potentially
 without the users knowledge.<br />
FireEye explained its proof of concept app further saying this 
"monitoring app can record all the user touch/press events in the 
background, including touches on the screen, home button press, volume 
button press and TouchID press, and then this app can send all user 
events to any remote server," the company explained. It goes on to say 
that it was able to exploit this vulnerability on<a href="http://askneed.blogspot.com/2014/02/apps-can-track-keystrokes-becz-iphone.html" target="_blank"> iOS</a> 7.0.4 as well as<a href="http://askneed.blogspot.com/2014/02/apps-can-track-keystrokes-becz-iphone.html" target="_blank"> 
iOS</a> 7.0.5, 7.0.6 and 6.1.x.<br />
Fortunately from the sounds of it, this security flaw can only be 
exploited when you download something you shouldn't. While we are 
waiting for <a href="http://askneed.blogspot.com/2014/02/apps-can-track-keystrokes-becz-iphone.html" target="_blank">Apple</a> to patch things up, reports say that even if something
 does hit your system in this way, it can be easily rectified by paying 
close attention to your background processes and then ditching anything 
shady.
